I'm just going to say that this summary is complete garbage in advance, but I tried.

The start of the war centered around the execution of king Charles I. The people did not like the execution and saw it as just the rash actions of the parliament. Many of the non conformists stated blatantly that what happened could not have been worse and more grief-filled. The decision for the execution wasn't even the better majority of parliament, even a member, Thomas Hoyle, committed suicide afterwards due to grief.
The king stated that his sufferings were like those of Christ. He said that he was perishing in the most righteous ways. Unfortunately for him, rules said that the king should be clad in iron for what he said. Many were accused of treason for publicly stating this. Despite this, people like Charles Ludlow rejoiced in Charles's sinning in the open.
Fighting over the king's actions came to a head when major disputes over Charles's sacrilegious actions made Colonels and religious figures began to have heated verbal disputes over how was in the wrong. Many leading political figures denounced the priests' actions and verbal attacks. We can now look at Charles's death as a product to settle a conflict.

And now, how I USUALLY spend my weekends.
